In 1889, during a visit to Naples, Queen Margherita of Italy was served a pizza resembling the colors of the Italian flag, red (tomato), white (mozzarella) and green (basil). This kind of pizza has been named after the Queen as Pizza Margherita. We just call it tasty.

To order this type of pizza topping in Italy one would ask for salame piccante, salame piccante calabro, or spianata calabra. A request for "pepperoni" may be mistakenly interpreted as an order for sliced Bell peppers. Pepperoni, tomato, Mozzarella cheese and Fiddler's pizza sauce.
